The Grille

The Grille is a vibrant, retro-inspired café in Invercargill, New Zealand, renowned for its all-day brunch, quality coffee, and welcoming atmosphere. Located within Bill Richardson Transport World, the café blends classic American diner influences with fresh Southland produce, creating a distinctive dining experience that appeals to both locals and visitors.
For this project, I designed the café's primary menu, creating a layout that balances personality with functionality. The design was developed to reflect The Grille's bold, nostalgic brand while ensuring the extensive menu remained easy to navigate and enjoyable to read. Careful consideration was given to typography, hierarchy, spacing, and information architecture, allowing customers to quickly find what they were looking for without compromising the visual identity of the brand. I also further applied the updated style and branding across a large printed wall menu, burger flags, greaseproof paper and many other elements used across The Grille.
